The 30-credit program has seven required courses and three electives.

Admissions Criteria

Those applying to the Digital Marketing and Design program should meet the following criteria:

  • An undergraduate degree with a major/minor in marketing, OR
  • An undergraduate degree in a related area (i.e. business, management, communications), OR
  • A minimum of 2-3 years in marketing, demonstrating familiarity with marketing strategy, customer behavior, branding, competitive analysis, and other related areas.

The 30-credit Digital Marketing and Design program has seven required courses and three electives. Required courses provide students with a focused education surrounding fundamental topics in the field, while electives build upon specific professional skillsets and allow students to enrich and round out their studies.

Our Digital Marketing and Design faculty understand the challenges of modern industry. Whether they’re spearheading marketing campaigns at a university or helping small businesses launch their own digital marketing initiatives, they structure their GPS curriculum to draw on real-world expertise and connections that ultimately help our students advance their career goals. Here is a sampling of our Digital Marketing and Design faculty:

  • Steven Dupree is the program chair for the MS in Digital Marketing and Design. He has more than a decade of experience helping startups across multiple industries achieve $1B+ valuations through digital marketing and tactical customer acquisition. After receiving an MBA from Stanford University, Mr. Dupree dabbled in venture capital before exiting to build companies again. He continues to invest in and advise promising entrepreneurs in his free time.

  • Ross Morrone is the Assistant Director of Marketing Communications at Youngstown State University. He has over 10 years of experience in marketing, advertising, web design, analytic analysis and multimedia production.

  • Ian Rifkin currently works as a Software Systems Manager at Brandeis University. He primarily works in LAMP environments (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP) and manages software creation, upgrades, and releases as well as administrates purchased and open source applications including wiki, blogs, Web content management system (CMS), and course management system. He received his undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Internet Studies from Brandeis, focusing on how people interact online.
