WALTHAM, Mass. -- Students, faculty and staff at Brandeis University are collaborating to present 11
days of events and lectures focusing on environmental sustainability and climate change, April 6-16.
US Representative Edward Markey will be the featured speaker. He will deliver a talk April 13 in Rapaporte Treasure Hall on what Congress is doing to encourage energy independence and address the challenges of global warming.
Following Markey’s talk will be a panel discussion featuring Steven Strong, leading authority on integration of renewable energy systems, and Mark Rentschler, Green Seal’s director of Institutional Greening Programs. They will discuss ideas on how to make money while going green.
Events include a Charles River cleanup, a waste-free picnic, and an environmentally oriented Shabbat. Programming includes a teach-in on environmental issues, an environmental-careers job fair, and free movies on environmental issues.
