IN OTHER NEWS
Using Duo to Protect Your Brandeis Account

ITS recently completed the rollout of Duo two-factor authentication to almost 4,500 faculty, staff and student employees. The rollout was conducted over several waves starting in fall 2018 through early March. The implementation went smoothly with the help of targeted communications, how-to resources, and Help Desk staff to guide the community through this change. Duo two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your Brandeis account beyond your username and password that helps keep your account and personal information secure even if your password has been stolen or compromised.

This successful implementation lays the groundwork for rollout to the rest of the Brandeis community later this year. Visit the ITS website to learn more about Duo.

Workday Update

The campus move to Workday is now scheduled for July 1. The rescheduled “go live” date will provide the project team with additional time to review, validate and test the system, and continue to prepare the community for Workday. It will also align with our fiscal year-end, which will support the Workday team and campus in making the transition to this new system.

Get ready for the campus move - sign up for a Workday class today. Workday training sessions will be offered leading up to the July 1 “go live”. Please visit the Workday@Brandeis website to view the complete course catalog and to register for a class.

Please contact workday@brandeis.edu with any questions.

New Email Security Protection Tool - Proofpoint

ITS is adding an additional layer of security to Brandeis staff, faculty, and student email accounts. Proofpoint provides enhanced email security to further protect your Brandeis email account from spam, viruses and phishing scams. It enables you to have control over what reaches your inbox including bulk mail from marketing sites and vendors (e.g., MailChimp).

While ITS is expected to roll out Proofpoint to the campus later this year, users can opt-in to this service starting Tuesday, March 19. To begin using the email security protection tool, visit the Proofpoint opt-in page. Brandeis users who opt-in will receive a daily email digest at 8 a.m. containing quarantined bulk and spam emails.

Please visit ITS website for more information. If you have questions please email security@brandeis.edu.
