Brandeis GPS adjunct faculty are active industry leaders in their field. Their professional expertise is brought to the classroom via online class discussions, projects and lectures. Instructors are part-time and work fully online, with no requirement to appear on campus.

All Brandeis GPS programs are developed using the best practices in online learning. Courses are 10-weeks long and follow a 100% asynchronous teaching model in the online learning environment, with no set days or times for interaction.

 How to Apply

GPS welcomes applications for its adjunct faculty pool on an ongoing basis. The application process consists of the online application (including an uploaded current resume or CV) and, if subject matter qualifications are met, a series of interviews at the discretion of the Program Chair and Director of Program Development.

General Qualifications for Adjunct Faculty

GPS faculty have earned (at the minimum) a master's degree, with many holding terminal academic degrees and industry-specific credentials. Previous experience teaching online is not required, as Brandeis GPS offers a comprehensive training program for qualified faculty. Below are the general qualifications to teach:

Required Qualifications

  • Active professional employment in an industry closely aligned to the field of study
  • Master's degree or higher aligned to the field of study
  • Strong communication skills when conveying complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics
  • Strong interpersonal skills when relating to students
  • The ability to devote adequate time to courses, including responding to students and providing meaningful feedback in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience preferred; online teaching or learning experience preferred
