2026 Annual Salary Increase Program for Staff

A 2% merit increase pool was approved by the President for eligible staff. During this challenging financial environment, it is important that we acknowledge our most important asset, our people. This is not an Across-the Board Increase. It is expected that managers will differentiate increases based on performance. New rates of pay will be reflected in the 7/10 weekly pay and the 7/15 semi-monthly pay.

Eligibility: All regular staff (excludes temporary staff, faculty, union staff*) hired on or before January 1 and are actively employed on July 1, 2026 if they did not receive an increase April 1 or later. Eligibility excludes employees currently on Performance Improvement Plans. Employees whose pay is funded from non-University sources will receive increases as funding permits based on the above guidelines.**

*Union Staff receive increases per the terms of their Collective Bargaining Agreements. More information will be shared once available for the new Academic Research Union.

** Employees whose pay is funded 100% by grants and/or gifts who are not in the new Union will also have their increases processed in Workday paid on the above schedule if funding permits.

Faculty will follow the process outlined by the Provost’s Office and Deans. Faculty may reach out to their respective Dean with any questions.

If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources at humanresources@brandeis.edu.

Financial Aid for Summer School

Federal and/or institutional financial aid may be available to undergraduate students attending Summer School. For more information on eligibility and applications requirements, please visit the Summer Session Financial Aid webpage.

Key Federal Financial Aid Changes
Starting July 1, 2026

On July 4, 2025, the President of the United States signed into law the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) which enacted major changes to the U.S. tax code, as well as to federal programs that receive mandatory funding, such as federal student loans. We realize many undergraduate and graduate students may have concerns about how these changes might affect their ability to pay for college after July 1, 2026. The FAQ page answers many of these questions, and will be updated as more information becomes available.

2026-2027 Renewal Financial Aid Applications Overdue

The financial aid renewal application deadline for the 2026-2027 academic year was March 2, 2026. Students who would like to apply for need-based scholarship funds must submit the 2026-2027 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE, the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and copies of 2024 student and parent Federal Income Tax Returns. Students who wish to apply only for federal sources of financial aid need only complete the FAFSA (taxes will be requested upon receipt of this application only if necessary).

An email detailing the renewal process is being sent to students and parents this week. If you would like to meet with your financial aid counselor to discuss the renewal financial aid process, you may book a 30-minute appointment online.

Renewal aid packages will be available in late June.
