Division of Creative Arts


Inbar is a PhD student in Musicology, a Schusterman fellow, and has an affiliation (and a lot of love) for NEJS. She enjoys discussing music of almost every genre and thinking about what to cook (and eat) for dinner.
Division of Humanities


Jonathan is a part-time student in the MA in English program; he also works full-time as an Area Coordinator in Brandeis Community Living. Jonathan's research interests are wide, including literacy education, educational agendas in literature and language teaching, pseudomedieval and medieval literature, theatre and drama, and video games as literature. He is an active volunteer with multiple Boston-area theatres and the Northeastern Association of College and University Housing Officers. Jonathan's favorite works of fiction are Nicola Griffith's "Hild," Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Chainsaw Man," Aaron Posner's "District Merchants: An Uneasy Comedy," Kunihiko Ikuhara's "Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence Apocalypse," and Square Enix's "The World Ends With You." There is always a book on his person, so feel free to ask what Jonathan is reading today.

Suzanne is a philosophy master's student interested in metaphysics and philosophy of science. Suzanne enjoys doing art and movie things, making stuff (recently, woodworking), reading fiction, and being outside.

Jacob is a first-year MA student in the Philosophy department. His research interests include the philosophy of science, metaphysics, and epistemology—especially of the social variety. In addition to his academic pursuits he enjoys rollerblading, cycling, and trail running.

Wenjing is a first-year graduate student in the Chinese Language and Culture program. She is doing teaching practice in the Beginning Chinese class. She loves reading and hiking, and her favorite food is Hot Pot. She really enjoys having Hot Pot with family and friends.
Division of Science

Trent enjoys cooking, exercise, reading, and watching movies. He is a 5th year PhD student researching viral proteins and how they utilize metal ions (iron and zinc) to carry out their biological functions.

Anant is passionate about sports like basketball, volleyball, and table tennis, and is always up for a good board game. When not organizing events for friends or the whole department as a GDR, Anant dives deep into research at the intersection of machine learning, quantum chemistry, and materials science.


Lindsay is a first-year student in the CLMS program with a B.A. in German and Linguistics and a passion for all things language. When she's not doing work, you can find her (re-)reading a book or social dancing in the Greater Boston area!



Josh is a 4th-year PhD student and a 2nd-year GDR specializing in geometric group theory, which combines algebra and geometry. Outside of math, Josh is passionate about film, enjoys watching movies, and has explored filmmaking and screenwriting. Additionally, Josh enjoys playing video games and Ultimate Frisbee.


Hailey hopes her contributions as a GDR will help students and faculty feel heard, respected, and supported.

Lianne is a second-year doctoral student studying transracial adoption from China to the United States during the One Child Policy. In addition to working in the Writing Center, she enjoys reading poetry, playing ukulele, and spending time with her cat, Oliver.

Cat is a 3rd-year History PhD student at Brandeis, where she also earned her BA in 2016. She specializes in 20th-century political and social history, with a research focus on the relationship between social movements, college students, political identity, and gender. Her work particularly examines how social reform, birth control, and abortion movements helped college women in Massachusetts develop political and activist identities.

Sheindl is a current second year BA/MA Hornstein student receiving her masters in Jewish Professional Leadership. Sheindl completed her undergraduate studies at Brandeis University, receiving her bachelors in Near Eastern Judaic Studies and Psychology. Sheindl is passionate about building and leading the greater Jewish community and has involved herself in different programs and organizations with missions of serving different Jewish demographics in the hopes of improving American Jewish organizational life. Sheindl is a Graduate Intern for Institutional Advancement at Brandeis, and a lab leader for Brandeis SCROLL Lab researching different aspects of Jewish Education. Sheindl is thrilled to be a part of the GDR community.

Nathanial is a dissertating PhD student focused on the creation of international law to govern the global commons, such as the oceans, Antarctica, outer space, and airspace. Nathanial also serves on the University Special Task Force on Free Expression and is available to represent and support students from any program.
