Nearly 100 Brandeis students and alumni, along with students from select Boston area schools and law school and LSAT representatives, kicked off the inaugural Brandeis University Law School Reception Oct. 15. The event was sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center.

Attendees met in small groups with alumni and representatives from law schools to discuss topics pertinent to their decision to apply to law school.

“The structure of legal education and reasons for going to law school have changed dramatically over the last decade, so an event where our students can learn about school-specific programs as well as things like exploring possible careers with a law degree was very important,” said Lauren A. Dropkin ’95, Esq., Hiatt’s assistant director of pre-law and graduate school adviser.

The Hiatt Career Center will continue to sponsor opportunities to connect with law school representatives through information sessions and workshops throughout the year. Students may log in to B.hired to learn more about upcoming events and opportunities.
