Senior Studio midyear exhibit shows off student work

The exhibition will be on display in the Dreitzer Gallery until Jan. 12

More than 40 pieces of art by Brandeis seniors are on display in the Dreitzer Gallery until Jan. 12.

The Senior Midyear Exhibition features include paintings, sculptures and video by students in the full-year Senior Studio course, which provides students a high degree of freedom in selecting the focus of and developing their work.

The midyear exhibition is a chance to gain experience for the end of year exhibition, which goes on display in the spring, said Associate Professor of Painting Joseph M. Wardwell, who instructs Senior Studio.

"It's the first time that students have actually exhibited their work in a professional manner like this," Wardwell said. "Most of their time in studio they're learning how to make art. Now, at the end of the semester they're learning how to display the art, how to put an exhibition together."

The gallery is located inside Spingold Theater Center.
