Brandeis delayed opening today, Tuesday, Feb. 10

Brandeis University will reopen campus today, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m.

All classes starting at or after 11 a.m. are expected to meet as scheduled unless otherwise notified by the instructor. Classes that start earlier and would be in progress at 11 a.m. are also expected to meet for shortened sessions, likewise unless otherwise notified by the instructor. All administrative offices will open at 11 a.m.

We appreciate that the MBTA is disrupted today, and that most commutes will be impacted, requiring both patience and tolerance. Any employee or student's decision based upon individual circumstances will be respected.

Our grounds, facilities, and custodial crew have done phenomenal work the past two weeks, including the last 36 hours, clearing snow from walkways, roads and parking lots. Although the historic amount of snowfall means there will be fewer parking spaces than usual, please park only in legal spaces. If needed, Campus Police will direct overflow to parking in the Charles River lot. Shuttles will be running between the lot and campus. Employees are encouraged to carpool.

The Brandeis shuttles will begin operation at regular hours today. Please be aware that expected heavy traffic and narrow roadways may result in some shuttle delays.

Dining Services

All dining locations will be open regular schedule except for Peet's, Dunkin Donuts and Mandell. The Faculty Club will be buffet service only today.

The library is open for regular hours (8:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.).

Gosman Athletic Center is open (7 a.m. to midnight).

Please use extra care driving on campus as some campus roads are narrowed with limited visibility due to the large snow banks. Also, please be careful when transiting across campus as, even with the very best efforts, the amount of snow and the rapidly dropping temperatures will result in icy patches on some walkways even when treated.

Thank you for your patience and, when you see a member of the grounds, facilities or custodial crew, please take a moment to thank them for all that they have done on our behalf the past two weeks.
