Jens Hilscher and Michael McKay win Brandeis IBS Teaching Awards
They were presented the annual awards in a ceremony commencement weekend
Associate Professor of Finance Jens Hilscher and Adjunct Professor Michael McKay have been recognized with the 2015 Brandeis International Business School Excellence in Teaching Award.
They were presented the annual awards in a ceremony commencement weekend.
"It is our faculty's reputation and credentials that make us such an outstanding institution. We take great pride in our faculty," said International Business School Dean Bruce Magid P'15. "These are the men and women who have given you [the students] their knowledge and expertise, their perspective and even their contacts, as you go forth in the world."
Hilscher is an expert in asset pricing and corporate finance and teaches a span of finance courses. In a year-end course review, one student said of Hilscher: "[He] is one of the best professors I've had so far. He is clear, concise, and explains complicated concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoyed his class."
McKay, a founding partner of Bain and Company's Private Equity Group, teaches courses in finance and private equity. One student said, ""Professor McKay is 'the asset' of Brandeis IBS. His classes are always filled, with a wait-list for those who want to get in."
For both Hilscher and McKay it was the second time to receive the award. Hilscher previously won it in 2009 and McKay in 2011.
