Brandeis University Press announces new partnership with the University of Chicago Press’s Chicago Distribution Center

Brandeis University Press will partner with the University of Chicago Press for the distribution, marketing and sales of all existing and new titles under the Brandeis University Press imprint.  This new partnership follows the dissolution of the University Press of New England consortium of which Brandeis University had been one of the founding members. Starting November 12, 2018, all orders for books from Brandeis University Press (BUP) will be directed to the University of Chicago Press’s state of the art distribution and fulfillment operation called the Chicago Distribution Center (CDC). CDC Director Joseph D’Onofrio said, “The University of Chicago Press and the Chicago Distribution Center is pleased to welcome BUP to the family. We look forward to helping it flourish, as it continues to publish great and compelling books.”

“Brandeis University Press  through its publishing program, whether it be scholarly monographs, books for course adoption or general interest titles, is an important part of our institutional mission,” said Brandeis Provost Lisa Lynch. “I am very pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with the University of Chicago Press’s CDC, known for its excellent services to its client publishers and their customers. It will provide visibility to our university’s outstanding publishing program and authors worldwide. The university will continue to support Brandeis University Press’s growing portfolio of books covering diverse subjects and perspectives. To that end, a search is presently underway at Brandeis to hire a new director for Brandeis University Press.”

Brandeis University Press was founded more than 45 years ago and has produced critically acclaimed and award-winning books in the humanities and social sciences, as well as general interest titles, with a particular commitment to publishing compelling and innovative approaches to the study of the Jewish experience worldwide.
