Professor Paola Servino receives honor from Massachusetts Italian Teachers Association

Paola Servino, Associate Professor of the Practice of Italian Studies and Co-chair of the Interdepartmental Program of Italian Studies, has been named Best Italian Teacher of the Year by the Massachusetts Italian Teachers Association (MITA/AATI) for 2024.

The citation for Professor Servino reads:

“Paola’s dedication to building a vibrant Italian program at Brandeis, along with her impactful contributions to curriculum development and teacher training, highlights her commitment to Italian education. Her inspiring workshops and innovative teaching approaches have made a lasting impact on our community of educators. She has also been a steadfast supporter of MITA over the years, generously hosting the Giornata dell'Italiano, an initiative that allows high school students in Massachusetts to connect with a college environment and learn more about studying Italian in higher education, thereby fostering a love for the language and culture among future generations.”
