Brandeis welcomes students with artistic talent in music or the visual arts to submit a portfolio using the Slideroom website. No student is required to submit a portfolio; however, the Admissions Committee partners with art and music faculty to have optional portfolios evaluated as a supplement to existing required application credentials. Please note that we are unable to provide feedback or evaluation to applicants regarding their portfolios.

Music

Students who submit a musical portfolio may do so in consideration for the Leonard Bernstein Fellowship, an elite fellowship program reserved for a small number of outstanding musicians each year.  Learn more about the fellowship.

Students are encouraged to submit 1-5 items of the following media types:

  • Images (up to 10MB each)
  • Video (up to 500MB each)
  • Audio (up to 60MB each)
  • PDFs (up to 20 MB each)
  • External media from YouTube, Vimeo, and SoundCloud

Art

Students may submit an optional portfolio intended to provide examples that highlight their artistic abilities to the Admissions Committee and faculty.

Students are encouraged to submit 1-5 items of the following media types:

  • Images (up to 10MB each)
  • Video (up to 500MB each)
  • PDFs (up to 20 MB each)
  • 3D Models
  • External media from YouTube and Vimeo
