Meet our students ...

Sasha, Class of 2014

Post-bac student

"I never thought that I would be a 'good' chemistry student, but thanks to the unrelenting support of the faculty at Brandeis, I have exceeded my academic goals and thoroughly enjoy going to class. Dr. Claudia Novack's extra sessions exclusively for post-bac students have been instrumental to my success, and while chemistry lab has been a challenge, Dr. Dolnik has been available for me whenever I needed help or clarification.

The labs at Brandeis are beautiful and modern.  I don't feel like an undergraduate when I'm in the lab, I feel like a scientist."

Change your path.
Achieve your goals.
Find yourself in medicine.

Brandeis University’s Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program is designed for career-changers and recent college graduates who would like to take the necessary pre-requisites for medical school and other health professions programs. Our students apply to allopathic and osteopathic medical schools as well as other health professions such as dentistry, physician assistant programs, veterinary medicine, optometry or podiatry.

Our unique program, located nine miles from downtown Boston and world-famous medical facilities, uses Brandeis’ world-renowned science programs and state-of-the-art facilities as the foundation for three exciting post-bac tracks. All tracks incorporate our popular Health: Science, Society, and Policy (HSSP) Program curriculum.

For career changers (21-month program, fall start):

For "Finishers" (15-month program, summer start in Organic Chemistry):

The Finisher Track is a special pathway for select non-science majors who have already successfully completed a full year of both General Chemistry and Biology with lab and a strong GPA in these courses to complete the pre-med and pre-health requirements in 15 months.  To find out if you are eligible to apply to this track, please contact the Program (nicolab@brandeis.edu).

Students in all tracks benefit from advising supportprofessional training, and affordability.

Students in tracks one and two are eligible for consideration for our linkage with The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Our program offers a special collaboration with Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston for professional training and clinical volunteer service.

We invite you to explore our site and find out how the Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program can help you to achieve your goals in the health professions.
