Adventures in American Music(s) Research Fellowship This fellowship is awarded annually to a Brandeis student researching music in the Americas.

Critical Language Scholarship The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a summer study abroad opportunity for American college and university students to learn languages essential to America’s engagement with the world. Fulbright U.S. Student Award During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think.

Huntington Library Fellowship The Huntington is a collections-based research institute, which promotes humanities scholarship on the basis of its library holdings and art collections and awards over 150 research fellowships annually.

Center for Medicine, Holocaust and Genocide Studies The Center for Medicine, Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles focuses on the study of medical professionals before, during, and after the Holocaust and other genocides. They award the Strauss Fellowship to early career scholars.

Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship The Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships are designed to encourage original and significant study of ethical or religious values in all fields of the humanities and social sciences and particularly to help Ph.D. candidates in these fields complete their dissertation work in a timely manner. In addition to topics in religious studies or in ethics (philosophical or religious), dissertations appropriate to the Newcombe Fellowship competition might explore the ethical implications of foreign policy, the values influencing political decisions, the moral codes of other cultures, and religious or ethical issues reflected in history or literature.

Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Doctoral candidates who are non-ROC citizens and who are enrolled in an accredited university in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, or South America may apply for financial support for writing dissertations in the field of Chinese Studies in the humanities and social sciences. Institute on Money, Technology and Financial Inclusion IMTFI supports researchers working in the developing world on issues of money, technology, and financial inclusion. IMTFI continues to grow and develop a global community and network of scholarship and practice broadly focused on questions of money and technology, and welcomes academics, policymakers, development practitioners, industry designers, and other interested researchers and advocates to join the discussion.

Japan Foundation Doctoral Fellowship Program For the purpose of promoting Japanese studies overseas, this program provides support to foreign scholars in Japanese studies to give them an opportunity to conduct research in Japan.

Lucretia Mott Essay Award The Lucretia Mott Essay Award is awarded by the Quaker Studies Program Unity of the American Academy of Religion.

National Science Foundation, Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant (Anthropology) The primary objective of the Cultural Anthropology Program is to support basic scientific research on the causes, consequences, and complexities of human social and cultural variability. Recognizing the breadth of the field's contributions to science, the Cultural Anthropology Program welcomes proposals for empirically grounded, theoretically engaged, and methodologically sophisticated research in all sub-fields of cultural anthropology.

National Science Foundation, Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant (Sociology)-- The Sociology Program supported basic research on all forms of human social organization -- societies, institutions, groups and demography -- and processes of individual and institutional change. The Program encouraged theoretically focused empirical investigations aimed at improving the explanation of fundamental social processes.

Organization of American Historians The Organization of American Historians gives out several dissertation awards. These include the Lerner-Scott Prize for work on US women's history, the John D'Emilio LGBTQ History Dissertation Award for work on LGBTQ history, and the Huggins-Quarles Dissertation Award, which supports graduate students of color with travel expenses for dissertation research.

NYU-Mellon Summer Institute on Urbanism The NYU-Mellon Summer Institute on Urbanism provides doctoral students with the opportunity to visit New York City for a ten-day interdisciplinary institute on urbanism. Students participate in workshops, engage with scholarship and research, connect with other scholars, and present on their own research plans.

Princeton in Africa Alumni Mini-Grants The Princeton in Africa alumni mini-grants provide relief and support to alumni of the Princeton in Africa program.

Smith Richardson Foundation The mission of the Smith Richardson Foundation is to contribute to important public debates and to address serious public policy challenges facing the United States. The Foundation seeks to help ensure the vitality of our social, economic, and governmental institutions. It also seeks to assist with the development of effective policies to compete internationally and to advance U.S. interests and values abroad.

Social Science Research Council The Social Science Research Council, an independent, international nonprofit, mobilizes necessary knowledge for the public good by supporting scholars worldwide, generating new research across disciplines, and linking researchers with policymakers and citizens.

USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research The USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research awards the Margee and Douglas Greenberg Research Fellowship, which supports graduate students and allows them to spend up to a month at the Center conducting research.

Wenner-Gren Foundation Grant The Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork Grants fund research that advances anthropological knowledge. They are among the most prestigious and competitive grants for anthropology research.
