Eric Furfine PhD'88 to discuss the power of science to improve life on Nov. 11

Eric Furfine, PhD'88, will return to campus on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for “Partnership to Help Advance Biologics.”

Furfine, senior vice president for research and preclinical development at Adnexus Therapeutics, will give an overview of the biotech industry and discuss Adnexus' mission to open new therapeutic horizons by unleashing the power of our science and people to improve life.

Furfine has served Adnexus as senior vice president for research and preclinical development since August 2006. From 2002 to 2006, he served as vice president of preclinical development at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., a publicly-traded biotechnology company. From 1989 to 2002, he held positions of increasing responsibility at GlaxoSmithKline, most recently as the director of Biochemical and Analytical Pharmacology. Furfine received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Brandeis and an A.B. in chemistry from Washington University.

Furfine will speak from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in Luria 1 (Sherman Function Hall).

Coffee and donuts will be served.
