Listen live on Sept. 3 as Jytte Klausen discusses her new book, 'The Cartoons That Shook the World,' on IslamOnline.net

Jytte Klausen

Professor of Politics Jytte Klausen will be the featured guest in a live dialogue on IslamOnline, a major Muslim-world Web site, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3.

The subject will be Klausen’s forthcoming book, “The Cartoons That Shook the World,” which will be in bookstores beginning Sept. 23. International attention and discussion have been directed at Klausen and the book since her publisher decided to censor the volume due to fears of violence if images of Muhammad were reproduced in the book.

The cartoons of the title were published on the editorial page of a leading Danish newspaper in autumn 2005 and were at the center of widespread rioting in the Muslim world in early 2006 that left more than 200 people dead.

The IslamOnLine discussion may be viewed live at IslamOnLine.net. Click on the “live dialogue” box on the right of the page. The discussion will be available as a podcast and in Arabic after the live program ends.

Klausen was a guest for a one-hour session Aug. 31 on the BBC program "World Have Your Say." A podcast of that program is available here.
