Entrepreneur Shai Agassi and investor Michael Granoff of electric vehicle firm Better Place will share their vision for an oil-independent world at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in the Brandeis International Business School’s Thomas H. Lee Lecture Hall. They will also receive the 2010 Asper Award for Global Entrepreneurship in recognition of their exemplary citizenship, innovation and creativity in the global marketplace.

Agassi, the firm’s founder and chief executive officer, embarked on a mission to make zero-emission, electric-powered cars a reality across the globe. Granoff was one of the first investors in this drive for oil independence. Better Place is now the best-funded clean technology company in history, and is deploying electric car systems in Israel, Denmark, and Australia, with Japan, the U.S., and Canada to follow.
