Innovative educator speaking Oct. 14

Linda Nathan, founder and headmaster of the Boston Arts Academy, will give a presentation at the Rose Art Museum 5:30 p.m. on October 14.

The arts academy is a pilot school and the only Boston public school devoted to the visual and performing arts. Nathan also was instrumental in founding Fenway High School, which has received national recognition for its educational strategies and programs. She is the author of “The Hardest Questions Aren’t on the Test: Lessons from an Innovative Urban School” (Beacon Press, 2009), which focuses on question schools must ask themselves and grapple with in order to succeed.

Nathan will be accompanied by students from the Boston Arts Academy.

The presentation is co-sponsored by the Masters of Arts in Teaching/Education (MAT) Program and the Rose Art Museum. Immediately following the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session for people interested in the MAT program.
