Early Music Ensemble performs at Boston festival

The Brandeis Early Music Ensemble performed in the premiere of Early Music America's (EMA) Young Performers Festival.

The Young Performers Festival was held in Boston between June 13 and 15, in conjunction with the annual Boston Early Music Festival and as part of Early Music America's 25th anniversary celebration.

Directed by Sarah Mead, associate professor of the practice of music, the Brandeis ensemble performed "Sonata: La Fontana" by Cesario Gussago and "Sinfonia I + Coppia gentil" by Cristofano Malvezzi, all from their program "Italian Wedding Soup."

Videos from the performance are featured on the EMA YouTube channel. The EMA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the awareness of and interest in the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods.
