Traffic, parking changes to be observed for new student move-in

New students will be moving into their assigned residences on Sunday, Aug. 28. To facilitate a smooth flow of traffic on that day, the following parking and traffic changes will be instituted.

Effective Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 p.m., through Sunday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m., parking on the Loop road, including the North Road (Quad), will not be allowed. Parking will also not be allowed in the Hassenfeld Lot, across from Massell Quad, and in Kutz Lot, across from the Usdan Student Center. In addition, no parking will be allowed in the East Quad Lot, located behind the Residence Quad.

On Sunday, Aug. 28, the entire length of the Loop road will be one way. Two-way traffic will not be permitted in the usual two areas. South Residence, admissions and theater lots will be closed to traffic as these areas will serve as the staging location for student vehicles.

University faculty and staff members who are planning to drive onto campus on opening day, Sunday, will be required to possess an opening day parking pass. This pass will allow access to the main campus and may be requested by submitting a memo, fax or email to the Department of Public Safety. One of the campus wing roads will be designated by signage as a faculty and staff access point. If you are issued an opening day parking pass, please ensure that it is visible to university police officers assigned to the designated main entrance traffic control post.

Questions or comments can be directed to the Department of Public Safety at (781) 736-4240. Parking pass requests can be sent to ecallaha@brandeis.edu.
