Student literary and art magazine sponsoring book drive for nonprofit

Where the Children Play, Brandeis students' only literary and art magazine, is hosting a book drive for the local bookstore More than Words.

The drive continues through Friday, April 1, at 6 p.m. in the Brandeis University Bookstore. WTCP requests fiction, non-fiction, audio books, text books, paperbacks, hard covers, CDs and DVDs.

The mission of More than Words is stated on their website: "More Than Words is a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers youth who are in the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business." Many current Brandeis students volunteer at the bookstore. More than Words is located at 376 Moody Street.

The deadline to submit original poetry, prose, photography, sheet music and artwork for the literary and art magazine's semester issue is 12 a.m. Thursday, April 7.

WTCP was created in 1994, and according to Editor-in-Chief, Kate Curley '11, is named after Cat Steven's song, "Where do the Children Play." Meetings are held at 8:30 p.m. on Sundays in the Brandeis Media Coalition Room (BMC), 3rd floor of the Shapiro Campus Center.

Drop off some books, visit the bookstores, and submit to WTCP.
