Federal government honors Brandeis for community service commitment

Brandeis University has been named to the 2010 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

The honor roll is part of the Learn and Serve America program, and recognizes higher education institutions that reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities. It is the federal government's highest recognition of commitment to service and civic engagement on campus and in the nation. Since 2006, it has been helping to make the public aware of universities' and their students' contributions.

The award will be presented at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in New Orleans next month.
