Kindness Week tradition continues with local community service projects

Events, opportunities planned for Nov. 7 through 11

After a successful campaign, Kindness Day is back for its second year and has been extended into Kindness Week. Kindness festivities will take place during the week of Nov. 7 through 11. The planning committee has organized two community service projects available to faculty, staff and students at More Than Words in Waltham on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Cradles to Crayons in Brighton on Friday, Nov. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. Free transportation is provided to all participants to and from the Spingold Theater Loop. Please visit the Kindness Week website to sign-up to volunteer and view additional information.

In continuation of last year’s tradition, postcards will be provided for you to write handwritten notes to community members to show your thanks and appreciation. You will be sure to see a Kindness table in Usdan the week of Nov. 7. Interested in a Kindness T-shirt? They will be available! If you are in a club or student looking to get more involved please email bachmanr@brandeis.edu to learn how you can help make the week memorable.

Dining Services will have order forms for the annual Thanksgiving pie and dessert bread sale available on the Kindness Week website. All items are baked fresh on campus and are boxed and ready to bring to your holiday meal. One dollar of each item sold will be donated to the Community Day Center of Waltham, the local homeless shelter. Free pie samples will be provided daily in Usdan.

Please visit the website often to stay apprised of all events and Kindness Week details. Challenge yourself to performing random acts of kindness and pass it on.
