Institute for Russian Jewry to hold full-day seminar on Israeli culture

The Brandeis-Genesis Institute for Russian Jewry (BGI) will hold its second Plus One Retreat on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Temple Israel in Boston.

More than 60 Russian-speaking Jewish students will take part in a day of learning, conversation and reflection about Israel and its culture. The event will focus on different aspects of modern Israel ranging from society and music to current geopolitics in the Middle East. It will include an interactive lecture, creative workshops and intellectual discussions.

It is a "Plus One" retreat, which means that in addition to attending, every BGI fellow is going to bring a friend as a their "Plus One."

A keynote speech will be delivered by Shai Bazak, the general consul of Israel to New England.
