Video contest focuses on federally funded scientific research

American Collegiate Innovation Video Contest deadline May 31

The Task Force on American Innovation (TFAI) has launched the American Collegiate Innovation Video Contest. The contest challenges students to use their creativity and imagination in an up to three-minute video that demonstrates how federally funded scientific research has resulted in discoveries that have benefited society.

The videos should focus on scientific research sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy Office of Science, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Department of Defense Basic Research or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 prize and a trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in an awards ceremony and a Congressional briefing at the U.S. Capitol.

The deadline for students to submit their videos is Thursday, May 31. Group submissions are permitted but must be entered through a single designated individual. For more information, visit the contest site.
