Meet the Admissions Staff
The admissions staff is eager to help you throughout the admissions process. Please feel free to contact any counselor below.
Dean of Admissions
I was born in Boston and raised just south of the city. I spent my undergraduate and graduate years in New York, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in organizational and industrial psychology. I truly enjoy getting to know more about you through your personal statements or chatting with you during a campus visit. I have been an athlete all my life and swam competitively throughout college. When I am not at work, I like to spend as much time as I can outdoors. I try to take one adventure trip a year in addition to leading a wilderness service trip. I look forward to helping you through the admission process.

Senior Vice President for Students and Enrollment
In my position, I oversee the offices of admissions, community living (housing), athletics, financial aid, student accounts, the Hiatt Career Center, the Health Center, the Inter-Faith Chaplaincy, the Inter-Cultural Center, Student Activities, and others serving the Brandeis community. I also teach periodic courses, most recently in the theater department. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, I now live in Needham, Massachusetts, with my wife and son, Joshua (Brandeis class of 2024!) and our dog, Penguin. Reach me on Twitter @deanflagel, or check out my blog at MyCollegeOptions.org.
Senior Associate Director of Admissions
I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland before making my way to the Boston area almost fifteen years ago for college. As an undergraduate student, I studied marketing communications and then later earned my Master’s Degree in counseling and psychology. I love the rich history and culture that make Boston such a vibrant city; in my opinion, there’s no better place to study! I feel so fortunate to have a career that allows me to travel the world and meet people from so many different backgrounds through the application process. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have.

My northern trajectory: from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Texas, then North Carolina and now Massachusetts. I am now happy to call the Boston area my new home. I have worked in undergraduate admission since 2005 and have loved every minute. I am passionate about assisting high school and transfer students on their transition to a four-year university. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family while we explore the Boston area and New England. I love experiencing all the history that has taken place in this area!

I've lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for the past four years. Associate Director of Admissions Operations
In my many years in higher education, I've had the opportunity to work on creating new ways of getting the job done. The operations work I do in undergraduate admissions at Brandeis opened a whole new world of systems to develop.
I am originally from a large family in a small town in Iowa and now a resident of Waltham, Massachusetts. For fun, I like to travel, garden and do large and small jobs around the house.

I hail from Old West, specifically Tucson, Arizona. I graduated from Brandeis in 2011 with a B.A. in Politics and American Studies and after graduation I went on to earn my M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs. I am excited to have the opportunity to help shape future classes of Brandeisians! During my time at Brandeis I found myself involved in many clubs including the Undergraduate Theater Collective and Students for Environmental Action (the largest activist club on campus). I was also active in the Department of Community Living where I served as a Community Advisor for two years. I am ecstatic to be part of this admissions team and to share my experiences and love of Brandeis with prospective students and their families!

I was born and raised south of Boston in Norwood, Massachusetts. I earned my B.A. in Graphic Design with a minor in Interdisciplinary Marketing Relations from Stonehill College. I was highly involved in both Admissions and Student Affairs during my undergraduate experience and have found a true dedication for helping students discover, develop, and expand upon various passions or interests. In my spare time I am an avid runner, who happens to run on coffee. Also, I love to travel to new locations, yoga, hiking, typography, staying informed about America and the world, and anything that leads to me using my vast knowledge of pop culture. I am very excited to be a part of the Brandeis Admissions team and look forward to meeting you!

Born and raised in the foothills of Western Massachusetts, I recently left the Bay State to complete my MA in Higher Education Administration in beautiful Ann Arbor. I’ve worked in the field of admissions for the past few years, and truly enjoy guiding students and their families through the college admissions process--I know it’s an exciting but sometimes daunting experience! In my free time, I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, traveling, and discovering the natural world by cross country skiing, hiking, canoeing, and camping. I’m new to both Brandeis and the greater Boston area, and look forward to exploring the area and community more deeply.

A native Bay Stater, I graduated from Brandeis University in 2011 with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing. I love the arts community at Brandeis, and as a student I played in the Jazz Ensemble and Saxophone Quartet and helped to organize poetry slams and readings. My experiences as a tour guide inspired me to continue working with prospective students, with a particular interest in college access and international education. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, exploring Greater Boston’s many eclectic neighborhoods, and seeing movies and live music. I am so happy to be back in the admissions office and look forward to helping you learn more about Brandeis!

Hello and welcome! I spent my childhood molded by the sweet smells of corn and soybeans and the (small) hills of northwestern Illinois. I moved to Boston to explore urban life and spend time in America’s college town as I completed my Master’s Degree in Higher Education from Boston College in 2010. What I discovered was a passion for education and helping students explore their college options. Now I am lucky enough to help you! My professional interests include transfer and first generation students, but when I am not working, I love traveling, reading, baking, hiking, and spending time with my family, which includes my sleepy dog Delta. I hope you will ask me any questions and I am looking forward to learning more about you!

Having grown up just outside of Philadelphia, I was enthusiastic about going to Brandeis and embracing all things New England. The emphasis on interdisciplinary studies at Brandeis initially attracted me to the school, and I ultimately graduated with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies. During my undergraduate years, I was a member of the sailing team, an orientation leader, and had numerous jobs and internships in the Boston area. I also gave tours as an Admissions ambassador and host, and I am so happy to be back in the office as an Admissions Counselor. In my free time, I enjoy anything that allows me to be outdoors or on the water, cooking, and finding new adventures. I look forward to sharing my stories and love of Brandeis with you!

A proud native of southern New Jersey, I look forward to meeting prospective students from my home state and our neighbors to the west and south! I graduated from Brandeis in 2015 with majors in American Studies and Politics, and minors in Legal Studies and Music. While at Brandeis I music directed and conducted several musicals with the Undergraduate Theatre Collective, I was a coordinator for the Waltham Group, our community service organization, and I studied abroad in the Netherlands with the Brandeis in the Hague Program! When I’m not at the admissions office you can most likely find me exploring Boston and its restaurants with my friends, geeking out about electoral politics, or rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies. I am so excited to be a part of the admissions team at Brandeis and look forward to getting to know you!

I grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts, and graduated from Brandeis in 2014 with a B.A. in Business and American Studies and a minor in Film, Television, and Interactive Media. As an undergraduate, I was a dancer, choreographer, and board member for several dance groups on campus. I also served as an Undergraduate Department Representative for the American Studies department and as a Student Ambassador for Admissions. Following my passion for travel and international cultures, I spent the first semester of my junior year abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. I am so excited to have returned to Brandeis as part of the admissions team!
After growing up in Western Massachusetts, traveling up to Maine for college, and working in Washington D.C for several years, I am excited to be back in my home state! I earned my B.A in English from Bates College then transitioned into Admissions work in D.C. I really enjoy working with students and I look forward to seeing the unique qualities each of you bring to our incoming class. In my free time I enjoy getting outside, reading, and creating or viewing artwork. I am looking forward to exploring the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and taking advantage of all the fantastic events going on in this area. I love to hear people’s stories, so I am excited to meet you all and help make the admissions process as easy as possible!
