Consider an Interview

Essays and transcripts don't always tell us the whole story. An interview gives you an opportunity to tell us about yourself in person, unconstrained by the formality of the written page and the remoteness of school records.

Student interviews are scheduled directly through the admissions office. Interviews are not required, but are helpful both for the admissions office and the applicant. Interviews are conducted on campus by current seniors and staff, or off campus by staff and alumni. Interview evaluations will become a part of your application and may be used in the decision making process. Although interviews are typically casual by nature, you should be prepared to talk about yourself and your interests relating to Brandeis and your high school experience. An interview will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions and share additional personal information.

About On-Campus Interviews

Guidelines for on-campus interviews are as follows:

  • Prospective students may schedule interviews on campus any time after June 1 of their junior year. Please visit our Campus Visit page to sign up for an interview.
  • Candidates must schedule on-campus interviews by early December (Nov. 15 for Early Decision I)

About Off-Campus Interviews

Off-Campus interviews with an alumni representative are available to first-year applicants in some regions. Off-campus interview requests must be made at least two weeks prior to your application deadline, and are available during the fall of each year. Please click on our AAC Interview Request Form to request an interview with an alumni representative.

About Interviews for International Students

Skype interviews may be available to a limited number of first-year applicants who live outside the United States and are unable to visit campus. More information will be available on this page in the fall.
