2014 Commencement will take place on May 18, 2014
Please be aware that there are TWO commencement exercises. The first is the Brandeis IBS Diploma Ceremony. It will begin at 8 a.m. sharp on May 18, 2014 and will be held in Levin Hall (upper campus in the Usdan Building). This is the ceremony where your name will be called and you will receive your diploma as you walk to the stage. It is also where your elected student leader will speak and give a personal message to all classmates. This is a Brandeis IBS-specific ceremony and tickets are not required.
Immediately following this ceremony is the main University-wide commencement, beginning at 10:30 a.m. All Brandeis IBS grads will march together (led by Kate and the Dean) from Levin Ballroom down to Gosman Sports and Convocation Center for a much larger ceremony which includes all the Brandeis 2014 graduates. Usually there is a very notable keynote speaker as well as distinguished honorary degree recipients (such as world famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who performed for the audience a few years ago). Tickets are required and are limited to 5 tickets per student. Ticket distribution information can be found here.
There will be several other events and details leading up to this weekend, including a Reception for Family and Friends on Saturday, May 17th from 4 - 6 p.m. All family members and guests are invited and welcome to join us for this event.
More information will be shared soon. Please stay tuned and feel free to direct questions to Viola Morse at firstname.lastname@example.org.
