Phyllis Zweig Chinn completed six years on the board of U.S. Servas, a nonprofit that fosters understanding of cultural diversity, and was the voting delegate representing the U.S. at the Servas International General Assembly in South Korea. She volunteers in the organization’s national office in Arcata, California, her hometown. Phyllis travels frequently to New York to visit her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Daryl, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve. Esther Gerson Levine has been a media escort in Atlanta for 30 years, helping publishers and public relations firms bring authors to the city during book tours. She also escorts visiting writers such as Brandeis journalism professor Eileen McNamara, whose book about Eunice Kennedy was published last year. Esther is a founder of the Book Festival of the Marcus Jewish Community Center, which holds an annual evening in her honor during the event.
