Brandeis Exceeds Carbon Reduction Goal | In 2015, Brandeis set out to reduce its carbon emissions by 10% over 2015 levels by 2018.

Building Cooling and Heating Transition | Campus-wide | Facilities Services has begun the campus-wide transition from building cooling to heating. This transition is an important step in maintaining your comfort and conserving energy and is based upon weather forecasts that can change rapidly. The transition will take up to two weeks to complete across campus. During this period building temperatures my be cooler and/or warmer than normal. Parking Changes for Community Impact and Education Fair | Wednesday, Oct. 24 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Hassenfeld Lot, Spingold Circle and rose Circle | On Wednesday, Oct. 24, the Hiatt Career Center, the Department of Community Services and the Waltham Group are sponsoring Brandeis University's Community Impact and Education Fair. Employers attending the fair will be directed to park within a defined number of reserved parking spaces in Hassenfeld Lot, Spingold Circle and Rose Circle. New Contract Process | In an effort to ensure that contracts and agreements for Brandeis University are properly reviewed, approved, and recorded, the University has updated the policy for contract management. Per Brandeis University by-laws, only select individuals are authorized to bind and execute agreements and contracts on behalf of the University. Procurement and Business Services will oversee the review and execution of all non-research agreements and/or contracts, including independent consultant agreements, hotel agreements and other financial documents requiring a signature by a university official.
Sponsored research agreements are and will continue to be reviewed and signed by the Office of Research Administration.

Vacation Carry-over | With the end of the calendar year approaching, it is a perfect time for employees to review their vacation balances. The University vacation policy limits balances that employees are allowed to carry-over to the next calendar year. On January 1, 2019, employees who have balances that exceed the carry-over limit will have their balances reduced. Please plan ahead and use your accrued time to avoid losing any vacation time. As always supervisors approval is required before vacation leave can be taken. Please visit the Human Resources Website to view the paid time off policy. |

New Campus Food Pantry | A new food pantry has been created in Kutz and stocked with a variety of free, non-perishable items for any Brandeis community member in need. The pantry is located in the Graduate Student Center Conference Room (Kutz 102) and is accessible from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. First-time users are asked to register online or at the food pantry. |

Get Your Office Green Certified | The Brandeis Sustainability Ambassadors will soon be offering Green Office Certification. Offices and departments that sign up will be evaluated according to a checklist of green office practices, and will be given a presentation by the Brandeis Sustainability Ambassadors. Offices will then receive a certificate based on their score, and be ranked online. Some funding is also available for green improvements. By participating, staff and faculty can help Brandeis become more sustainable while competing to be greenest. Please fill out this form to learn more. |

Through discussion, interactive exercises and a debriefing session we will explore how teams can work together most effectively and learn how to apply successful team concepts and strategies in very practical ways. Interpersonal difficulties such as trust, skill identification, and conflict resolution and communication issues will be discussed.

Time Management Workshop | Monday, Dec. 3 10-11 a.m. Hassenfeld Conference Center, Luria | Do you feel like you are always on the run from one activity to another? Time has become more precious as professional and personal demands increase and our ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules diminish. In this session, you will learn proven techniques for managing time effectively. You will analyze how you currently spend your time, review time-wasters and set new priorities, based on your values and goals. You will also learn how to combat procrastination and develop a personal action plan that takes into account the balance and achievement of career and personal goals.
