This summer, Kate ’20 made some new friends — Etch-A-Sketch, Sprinkles, Owl and Shuffleboard. They’re humpback whales whom she visits almost every day during voyages on the Cetacea, one of the New England Aquarium’s whale watch vessels. And Kate isn’t just getting up close and personal with the whales. She is contributing to field data and educating others about the importance of ocean conservation. Her internship was made possible through the Hiatt Career Center's World of Work Summer Internship Funding Program, including the Louis D. Brandeis Legacy Fund for Social Justice.
