Brandeis Recognized as a Fulbright Top Producer
The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has named Brandeis a Fulbright Top Producing Institution.
This recognition is shared by 130 higher-education institutions across the U.S. that have the highest number of candidates selected for Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs during the 2024-25 academic year.
Last year, 10 Brandeisians became Fulbrighters, a banner year for the university. They taught English abroad or engaged in research projects on topics that included swarm robots (in Japan); race, gender and class (in South Korea); and autism spectrum disorder (in India).
“This honor is a testament to the vision and hard work of our applicants, and to the faculty and staff who support them,” says Meredith Monaghan, executive director of academic fellowships. “These 10 alumni exemplify the best of Brandeis as they carry out the Fulbright mission of promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding.”
Over the past decade, 47 Brandeis undergraduates, graduate students and alumni have received Fulbright U.S. Student grants, created by Congress in 1946 to foster understanding between the U.S. and other nations. In all, 147 Brandeisians have been awarded Fulbrights since the program began.
