Alumni Scholarships
An important objective of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is to assist Brandeis alumni in fulfilling their academic and career aspirations through graduate education. We are proud to offer a $9,500 scholarship ($7,125 for the Master of Arts in Teaching and $85,00 for the MS in Biotechnology) for Brandeis undergraduate alumni (or current Brandeis seniors who have their bachelor’s degree by the time they start a master’s program) who are admitted into most GSAS master’s programs. To be considered, please follow the instructions below. This scholarship is in addition to any need-based aid (based on the FAFSA) for which the student may be eligible, and complements the need-based aid (upon filing FAFSA--the Free Application for Federal Student Aid; www.fafsa.ed.gov); virtually all students who file this form qualify for need-based scholarships. In some programs, students may also be eligible to earn stipends as teaching fellows.
Brandeis University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences provides the same top-quality education that you received as an undergraduate. You are a proud alumnus with solid academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to social justice. We hope that you will return to Brandeis to continue your education.
Is my program of interest eligible?
All Master's programs in the GSAS are eligible for this alumni scholarship with the exception of the Hornstein programs, Genetic Counseling, Theater, and any programs joint with the Heller School. These programs do normally offer generous scholarships. Please note, this scholarship is ONLY for GSAS programs, not Heller or the International Business School.
For questions, and to see if your program of interest qualifies for the alumni scholarship, please contact Laurie Nichols in the GSAS.
To be eligible for this alumni scholarship, students must maintain a minimum of two semesters in residency in a GSAS program.
How to Apply?
To be considered for the alumni scholarship, please email Jaclyn Farina upon submission of your online application. This will ensure that your award letter will appropriately reflect this scholarship if you are admitted to the GSAS.
