Deadlines and Requirements

Deadlines

While admission requirements vary by department, a number of pieces are standard across all programs  As a general rule of thumb, our doctoral programs require a completed application to be submitted by January 15 for fall admission. Many of our master’s and certificate programs review applications on a rolling basis for admission the following fall, but some have tighter deadlines. Additionally, some of these programs begin in the summer and spring semesters. For a complete listing of deadlines, please visit Areas of Study and select your intended program.

Requirements

Each program requires a completed GSAS online application, paid application fee, a personal statement; resume or curriculum vitae; and letters of recommendation. Many programs require entrance exams (GRE, GMAT, Miller Analogies Test, or departmental exam), and an academic writing sample, and some also require interviews.
