Networking can be an intimidating concept if you are unfamiliar with the “how-to”, but it truly can mean the difference between searching for, and landing an opportunity. Please review our tips for networking, connecting, and conducting informational interviews below, or make an appointment with a career counselor to learn more.
- Networking 101
- Webinar on building an impressive LinkedIn profile
- Connect to Brandeis GSAS Student and Alumni Career Exchange Group on LinkedIn
- When attending networking events, conferences or meetings, it can be helpful to easily communicate who you are and how you can be contacted by leaving a business card.
Informational interviews are professional meetings initiated to help you learn more about a field or position. Using your network, identify people of interest and arrange a meeting to ask pertinent questions. Remember, the idea is NOT to ask for a job, but solely to gain information and strengthen connections. Refer to our guide for more in depth assistance. Check out our Informational Interviewing Guide.
