All first-time Teaching Fellows and Course Assistants are required to attend a tailored half-day orientation with sessions about Title IX, resiliency, cultural identity, and campus resources.
Following registration, you will receive an overview of the new online version of the TF and CA handbook, participate in activities that teach you about cultural identity and resiliency as teachers, and you will engage in Title IX training.
Each of these sessions at orientation will model different ways of sharing information with students, and they have been created in collaboration with Graduate Student Affairs, the Brandeis Counseling Center, and Experiential Learning.
Be sure to arrive at the Olin-Sang Auditorium by 9:30AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. We will break for lunch in the late morning and orientation will end at 1:30PM. From 1:30PM-2PM you will have the opportunity to complete your I-9 in the hallway outside of the auditorium.
The TF Handbook outlines available resources, describes best practices, and suggests ways to manage your classroom. In addition, it explains all the administrative procedures that TFs need to know.
