Class Correspondent

Since November, I’ve been working in a new division at NBC called Local Media, doing marketing for NBC’s 10 owned and operated stations. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been at NBC for five years now. I guess it’s true that time flies when you’re having fun! As usual, it was great hearing from all of you and learning about all the great things you’re up to.

Arielle Bernstein was a finalist in Glimmer Train’s 2010 Fiction Contest for her short story “Animal Needs.”

Sarah Kaplan joined Begelman, Orlow & Melletz as an associate attorney.

Joanna (Schleider) Lambert was promoted to vice president of compliance reporting service in the Western Hemisphere for JPMorgan.

Marc Herman is engaged to Debbie Rybak. Marc is pursuing a Ph.D. in religious studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Debbie is a medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. 

On Jan. 16, Shanna (Nussbaum) and David Goldstein welcomed twins, Charlie Gabriel and Emma Eliana.

Paul Kandel and his wife had a baby boy on Nov. 15, 2010.

Elana (Blumenthal) Kahn, M.A.’06, delivered a beautiful baby girl named Tzipora Sara on Dec. 30, 2010. Elana has finished her prerequisites for nursing school and hopefully will be starting studies at Roxbury Community College in the fall.

Alissa Piasetski will marry David Polansky, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto, in September in Vancouver. The couple met in Washington, D.C., in 2006 and recently adopted a French bulldog, Virgil. They live in Toronto.

The Pernikoff Brothers, Tom and his brother, Rick, recorded their debut album, “On My Way,” last year. They have drawn comparisons to artists like Ray LaMontagne and the Avett Brothers. Tom and Rick (an MIT grad) worked in Silicon Valley before trading their day jobs for the music studio.

Meghan Carter graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law in May 2010. She received a fellowship from the Equal Justice Works Foundation and works at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, focusing on fighting evictions of low-income people with disabilities. Shira Rozenberg married Daniel Teich on June 26. They were engaged in May 2010.

Reuben Posner and his wife, Leila Bilick, live in Cambridge, Mass. He is pursuing a master’s degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and recently joined the board of directors at the Brandeis Hillel.
