Mikhail Ershov, M.A.’00, an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Virginia, was selected as a Sloan Research Fellow for 2011. Awarded annually since 1955, the fellowships are given to early-career scientists and scholars in recognition of their achievements and potential for substantially contributing to their fields. Mikhail has been recognized for outstanding research contributions to various aspects of group theory.

David Cheong, Ph.D.’06, is working as the chief technical officer at the International Labor Organization, where he assesses and addresses the effects of trade on employment. He has consulted for the World Bank, U.S. Agency for International Development, World Trade Organization and Asian Development Bank.
