Daniel Gold was named partner at the law firm Haynes and Boone. He is a member of the firm’s class action, securities class-action defense and shareholder litigation practice groups in Dallas. He represents companies and executives in class actions, securities-fraud lawsuits, shareholder derivative, fiduciary duty and M&A litigation, and other types of complex litigation matters. He received his juris doctorate from Boston University. Matthew Segal was named legal director at the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts. He most recently served as a federal appellate defense lawyer in western North Carolina, where he regularly argued cases before the Fourth Circuit. He has also been a civil litigator at the law firms Robbins, Russell and Goodwin Procter in Washington, D.C. He clerked for the Honorable Raymond Fisher on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Matthew earned his law degree at Yale Law School. After 5 1/2 years at the Center for Public Integrity, Josh Israel was named senior investigative reporter at Think Progress, the blog for the Center for American Progress Action Fund. George Reidy, the baseball coach at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., was named manager of the Old Orchard Beach (Maine) Raging Tide of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Assumption’s coach since 2006, George was named Northeast 10 Conference Coach of the Year in 2009 after the Greyhounds went 33-21-1. He was captain of the Brandeis baseball team in 1999, when the Judges set a single-season record with 33 wins.
