Reese Jade Isenstadt was born on Jan. 27 to her proud parents, Lauren Rifkin and Jordan Isenstadt. They write, “Reese is a beauty, and we’re having the best time hanging out with her.” Lauren returned to work in the spring and was promoted to head of e-commerce at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Jordan continues his work to improve New York City as deputy director of the Association for a Better New York. Ginger Janow and Andrew Friedman welcomed their first child, Simeon Janow Friedman, on Feb. 22. In June, Ginger completed her fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, in the Bronx. Andrew has been running the assignment desk at the CBS TV station in New York for about five years. Brooke Wallock received her chartered life underwriter designation in February. WenLin Soh writes, “Amir Shamsuddin and I had our first child, Zafr Sheng-Ci Shamsuddin, on Jan. 25. In between feedings and diaper changes, we’re having a great time working on our startup, Edible Experiences, in London. I also had a great time catching up with Professor Tom Doherty, as well as meeting a roomful of Brandeis alums at the annual Thanksgiving Day tea in London, hosted by Henry and Alberta Gotthardt Strage ’56. I’m looking forward to more alumni events in London!” Jamie (Cutler) Rubin received an M.S. from the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing and accepted a clinical scholars position in the emergency room at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Josh Hill launched the blog Golden Rule Now to tell the world about the benefits of the Golden Rule across sales, marketing, business, travel and life. Golden Rule Now helps people apply the Golden Rule in business and life. Stanley Altshuller is a dad. Bruce Altshuller was born on Sept. 28, 2011. Laura Gleason and her husband, Jeffrey Brien, welcomed baby Aniela Lane Brien on March 2. Laura works at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as a senior analyst in the area of consumer protection regulations. The family has lived in Elkins Park, Pa., since 2010. Cara Rosenthal recently joined Merrill Lynch as a financial adviser in New York. Nadine Kantrow Timpa lives in Tampa, Fla., and works for Elle and HGTV Magazine. Julia (Deak) Sandler married Ted Sandler in September 2010. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Ph.D. in educational linguistics. Julia lives in Seattle, where she teaches English as a Second Language classes at the University of Washington.
