The 2023 BOLD 9 List
Last spring, the Brandeis University Alumni Association honored nine graduates from the previous 10 years who are already making positive changes in the world through their work in business, public service, advocacy, education, government, and the arts.
The young alumni on the 2023 BOLD 9 list include music-industry executive Rima Tahini ’16 and poet Jackson Holbert ’17.
The others named to the roster are:
- Food-allergy blogger Sarah Ackerman ’17 (Girl Behind the Hive), who advocates to strengthen food-safety regulations.
- Iyvon E. ’13, a theater producer, dramaturge, artistic programmer, and founder of a play development company called The Parsnip Ship.
- Emily Eng ’14, co-founder of Lift Music Fund, which seeks to end racial and economic inequality in music education.
- Jonathan Goldman ’19, executive director of the Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice, which trains college students to provide pro bono legal support to asylum seekers.
- Sam Hyun, Heller MBA’22, MPP’22, director of federal relations in the Boston Mayor’s Office.
- Ayan Sanyal ’14, co-founder of Kolkata Chai Co., which has two cafes in New York City and an online business that sells chai tea made according to Indian traditions.
- Economic anthropologist Aneil Tripathy ’12, GSAS MA’14, PhD’21, who analyzes climate finance at MIT’s Climate and Sustainability Consortium.
