Introduction
Welcome to the Islam section of the Feminist Sexual Ethics website. Here you will find resources addressing issues of sexual ethics and gender relations in Muslim communities and Islamic texts. Our site provides a series of subsections that address key topics such as:
- marriage contracts
- divorce
- veiling
- same-sex sexual activity and lesbian identity
- honor killings, and other crucial subjects.
For each topic, we bring together specific religious texts (verses of the Qur’an and selections from hadith), references to other sources, and interpretive commentary that serves as an introduction to the diversity of opinions on these subjects. We devote particular attention to progressive views.
