Brandeis International Business School

Massan Attiopou, MBA’21: Support from staff and school community was key

Massan AttiopouWhy did you choose Brandeis International Business School?

I chose Brandeis International Business School to obtain a customized MBA by concentrating both in Finance and in Strategy and Innovation as part of an excellent overall business education.

What were the best features of your time at Brandeis?

I had an amazing experience. The business school staff was always available to help and advise. I got a lot of support from the academic services, the faculty and the staff. They’re always willing to help students realize their full potential and were amazing advisors for me when I was looking for my career path. Many professors also impacted me during my time at Brandeis, especially Aldo Musacchio, the MBA program director, and Hagit Weihs, my accounting professor.

How did your classes and internship contribute to your success?

I interned in a FinTech startup called Payem, working as a business development intern. This was my first U.S. professional experience and it allowed me to learn a lot about the working environment there. It was a great experience even though it isn’t really related to my current job. I’m working in business valuation, and the corporate finance and modeling classes I took at Brandeis provided an excellent basis for my current role.

What should prospective students know about the International Business School?

It’s a great opportunity to acquire knowledge about the technical field they’re interested in, and they can also develop their leadership skills. For me, I felt part of a close community that allowed me to grow a lot as a person. And since the business school is a small community, every student has the opportunity to make an impact.
