Personalized Coaching

Even before you arrive at Brandeis International Business School, our Career Strategies Center starts working with you to find the internship and post-graduation job that match your interests and professional goals.

See how our coaching staff helps you every step of the way.

The Summer Before

From June to August prior to your first semester, you’ll work with our staff on developing your resume, sending drafts and getting one-on-one feedback from your career coach. There are also webinars on resume-building as well as related topics such as crafting a 30-second “elevator pitch,” writing effective cover letters and creating a LinkedIn profile.

After Arriving on Campus

Meet with your coach and other members of the Career Strategies Service team to develop your strategies and goals for securing an internship and future job. You’ll also create a profile on Handshake, our job-search platform.

Workshops

We host a variety of workshops to supplement your search by building on skills such as:

  • Effective networking
  • Interviewing with confidence
  • Dining etiquette
  • Tackling industry-specific interview questions
  • Developing stories to demonstrate skills and experience
  • Conducting industry and company research
  • Communicating with alumni
  • Negotiating salary
Networking Events

On-campus events such as alumni receptions and industry nights as well as company visits during industry treks will help you start networking and setting up informational interviews.

Landing Your Job

During your search for your post-Brandeis position, you’ll work with your career coach to develop a list of target companies, identify and pursue specific opportunities, fine-tune your interviewing skills and evaluate job offers.
