Abigail Arnold | Graduate School of Arts and Sciences

For the 2023-2024 academic year, GSAS welcomes an incoming class of 236 students across more than 40 programs. Joining the GSAS community are 76 doctoral students, 132 master’s students, and 28 non-degree students. The group comprises 87 international students (who come from 15 different countries) and 149 domestic students (from 29 different states).

GSAS welcomed students old and new to the academic year with an ice cream social on August 31, 2023, the first day of classes. In between enjoying delicious treats from Lizzy’s, students shared what they were excited for in the upcoming year.

I’m excited for the second year of grad school. I’m a course assistant for the first time, and I’m working on my thesis. But I don’t want it to fly by too fast!
