Stephen Reiner's contributions on behalf of our organization have been invaluable. His participation on the Strategic Planning Committee was thoughtful and insightful. He has brought us strength with his financial skills and has effectively led the Budget and Finance Committee. And as a university trustee, he is a staunch advocate and supporter of BNC.
As president of the Florida Region, Rosalind Schacknow worked collaboratively with the region board. Visiting and communicating with all of her chapters, she extended guidance and assistance whenever and wherever needed. On the national level, she served effectively on the National Executive Committee with sincere interest and full participation.
Audrey Whitman was instrumental in arranging for eight New Jersey chapters to work together on a stimulating program that featured a Brandeis professor and attracted 290 attendees. Her enthusiasm and organizational skills resulted in chapters effectively working in unison.
The Greater Boston Chapter raised the most funds for the Fulfilling the Promise: Libraries and Scholars campaign. Its exceptional performance in fundraising demonstrates the philanthropic spirit and creative talents of its members and acts as a model for other chapters to emulate.
The Somerset Chapter effectively invigorated its chapter with the recruitment of new members and reached 128 percent over its membership goal. Its dedicated efforts resulted in winning BNC's 10% for '10 Membership Contest.
The Phoenix Chapter created a cookbook, "Writers Can Cook Too," as a fundraising project and offered the book to other chapters for their use as fundraisers. The chapter's creativity in marketing resulted in online sales through Facebook and authors' blogs.
The Florida Region's efforts to promote the use of Brandeis Learning Opportunities materials were outstanding. In addition to a region 'Deis Flicks film festival, the chapter developed a speakers' bureau and continues to find new ways to introduce members to our materials.
