National Presidential Citations

Presented by Leslie Pearlstein
National President

Ellen Kaplan
You have generously shared your expertise as a consultant for nonprofits. The National Executive Committee has benefited by your guidance in the development of a strategy map for our Visioning Project, an invaluable tool for planning programs in key areas, assessing their success, and monitoring the progress of our strategic plan.

Carol Kern
For the past two years you have served as chair of the Visioning Committee, our important strategic planning initiative. With an enduring desire to further the success of our organization, you have worked effectively with your committee members and consultants to establish a plan for the future of the Brandeis National Committee.

Ron Levy
As a vice president, you have forged a team of region presidents who work effectively both together and in their respective regions. Through your initiative, leadership, and a collegial collaboration with your team, the
“Handbook for Region Presidents” was completely revised and updated.

The Florida Region
At a region symposium titled “Citizens in Turmoil: The Future of our Country,” members from participating chapters used Brandeis University study guides for their thought-filled discussions. Your utilization of our excellent Brandeis faculty-authored materials is hereby recognized.

The Central New Jersey Chapters
The seven chapters of Central New Jersey are an outstanding example of cooperation. You worked as a team to sponsor an event that featured a member of the Brandeis faculty, and your creative marketing and public relations resulted in a program that attracted over 700 people.

The South Miami-Dade Chapter
Your chapter held a book sale that owes its success to keeping expenses to a minimum, resourceful publicity, and the enthusiasm of those working on the project. The event created camaraderie for the volunteers, resulted in a profit, and brought the name of Brandeis University before the public.

The Western Region
Your region held an outstanding Leadership Training Retreat that fostered strong feelings of camaraderie for the more than 60 members who gathered to learn and share ideas to advance the mission of the Brandeis National Committee.
