Renting Theater Facilities

Located on the campus of Brandeis University at 415 South St. in Waltham, MA, the Spingold Theater building houses three theater spaces that occasionally are available for rentals during the academic year of Sept 1 - May 31. The theaters in the Spingold that are available for rental include the Mainstage Theater and the Laurie Theater, available for your concerts, recitals, dance performances, theatrical performances, special ceremonies, lectures, and panel discussions.

The Spingold Theater Building has a professional staff dedicated to ensuring that all your production requirements are met and that your event is a success.

Please review the theater information and rate sheets on this web site. When you are ready to request a theater and dates for your event, complete the Application for Facility Rental online. You will be contacted within 10 days after receipt of the form to discuss your eventin more detail.

General Facilities Information

Projections / Video

The Spingold Theater does not have video or projection equipment. Questions regarding these needs should be directed to Brandeis Media Services 781-736-4637.

Dressing Rooms

Total rooms: 8
Dual /Star: 6
10 person Choral: 2

All dressing rooms are equipped with mirrors and make up lights. Showers are available in adjacent restrooms. Choral Dressing Rooms have 2 sinks with hot water.

Green Room

The Green Room has a conference table and chairs, couches, sink, microwave, and refrigerator.

Communications

PA with stage announce and house program feed broadcast to dressing rooms, green room and production areas.

Clear- Com headset system to stage manager, audio booth, light booth, follow spots, front of house, fly rail, SL, SR, and trap room.

Pianos

The Spingold Theater owns two upright pianos that may be rented for a fee. Grand Pianos and Baby Grand Pianos must be arranged for by the renter and delivered to the Spingold Theater. Piano tuning is available at a cost of $65. We are happy to arrange this for you.

Box Office

Box Office service is available September through May to all event producers; charges vary depending upon type of service requested. The box office will accept cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa from customers as payment for tickets. All tickets ordered by telephone are held as a will-call at the Box Office.

Crews, Building Attendants and Equipment Rentals

Please see Rental Rate Sheets regarding charges for personnel needs and equipment rental rates beyond basic rental fee for space use.

Brandeis Theater Arts Dept has an extensive inventory of period and modern costumes. Please contact Denise Loewenguth about rentals for your production at 781-736-3390 or email at loewenguth@brandeis.edu.

Our in house sound system is suitable for speakers / lectures, theatrical and dance presentations. A professional sound engineer is available for an additional charge.
