Hornstein Students in Israel at Night
Hornstein students have the opportunity to study with outstanding scholars and leading practitioners whose work shapes Jewish discourse, policy, and professional practice. The curriculum blends planning, fundraising, Judaica, and advocacy courses with opportunities to take these skills outside of the classroom. Through the Hornstein Jewish Leadership Seminar, students have the opportunity to meet and learn from innovative local and national Jewish leaders in an intimate setting.

Another highlight of the program is the Foster Seminar in Israel. Combining field visits, projects, and encounters with leading figures, students confront the dilemmas of contemporary Israeli life while exploring the relationship between Israel and Diaspora communities.

In addition to required courses, students may choose from among a wide variety of elective courses in Hornstein, Heller and NEJS, as well as other Brandeis graduate programs. Students also produce a substantive final project in conjunction with a faculty advisor.

Field experience is an integral portion of the Hornstein program. These powerful professional experiences turn theory into action and enable students to build relationships with key professionals and practitioners and their future colleagues.

Hornstein is an intensive and demanding program. It is designed for outstanding students who seek to become pre-eminent Jewish professional leaders.Jonathan Sarna, Director
